Ram Ki Paidi

In the sacred city of Ayodhya, located alongside the banks of the River Sarayu, Ram Ki Paidi is a series of ghats, or stepped river banks. These ghats are helpful for the devotees who come to the river to take a dip in hopes of absolving their sins and purifying themselves. Ram Ki Paidi has also been the site of celebration of the festival of Deepotsav in Ayodhya, when the River Sarayu and its ghats get lit up with the help of thousands of diyas. Even with the latest Deepotsav celebrations, Ayodhya managed to record a win for the Guinness Book of World Records by lighting up a total number of 2.2 million diyas along the Ram Ki Paidi, breaking its own record that it established last year. Among the best places to visit in Ayodhya, going to Ram Ki Paidi is incomplete without attending the Sarayu Aarti that takes place every evening between 6 to 7 PM. Witnessing the Sarayu Aarti in person, with the serene backdrop of the Ram Ki Paidi is sure to become one of the best experiences any devotees traveling to Ayodhya can ask for.
